Studio Lézard a été fondé en 1990. Depuis, le studio poursuit son parcours en tant que petite structure indépendante, au service d'une clientèle restreinte mais fidèle, faisant appel à des collaborateurs lorsque la nature d'un projet l'exige.
Cette dimension volontairement humaine reflète notre volonté de conserver un contrôle rigoureux sur la qualité de notre travail tout en offrant un service personnalisé, attentif et souple, capable de répondre aux besoins particuliers de chaque client.
Au fil des années, les mandats réalisés ont été aussi variés que diversifiés. Toujours adaptable et ouvert aux nouveaux défis, Studio Lézard a mené à bien des projets aussi modestes qu'ambitieux, aussi confidentiels que prestigieux.
Notre démarche en design commence avant tout par une phase d'exploration. Nous cherchons à saisir l'esprit et la nature de chaque mandat en posant de nombreuses questions afin d'acquérir une compréhension approfondie du projet, de ses objectifs et de sa portée. Nous nous efforçons d'intégrer les connaissances, la vision et l'image de nos clients afin d'élaborer une réponse graphique fidèle à leurs intentions.
Au cœur de notre engagement se trouve la volonté de communiquer avec justesse. La solution graphique doit toujours servir les objectifs définis et produire les résultats recherchés.
Graphic Design
Studio Lézard was founded in 1990. Since then, the studio has continued as a small independent practice, serving a select but loyal clientele and bringing in collaborators whenever the nature of a project calls for it.
This deliberately human scale reflects our desire to maintain rigorous control over the quality of our work while offering a personalized, attentive and flexible service, capable of responding to the particular needs of each client.
Over the years, our projects have been as varied as they have been diverse. Always adaptable and open to new challenges, Studio Lézard has successfully undertaken projects that range from modest to ambitious, from highly confidential to prestigious.
Our approach to design begins above all with a period of exploration. We seek to understand the spirit and nature of each assignment by asking questions and developing a thorough understanding of the project, its objectives and its scope. We strive to incorporate our clients’ knowledge, vision and identity in order to develop a graphic response that remains faithful to their intentions.
At the heart of our commitment is the desire to communicate with clarity and precision. A graphic solution must always serve the defined objectives and achieve the desired results.
Travail de bois
Le bois m'attire pour ce qu'il a de vivant, d'imprévisible et d'authentique. Chaque essence possède son caractère, son grain, sa couleur et son histoire. Mon rôle n'est pas de lui imposer une forme, mais de révéler ce qu'il a déjà à offrir. Chaque pièce terminée est le fruit de mon regard, de mon expérience et de mon travail, mais elle demeure avant tout un hommage à la beauté naturelle du matériau dont elle est issue.
La plupart de mes créations prennent naissance dans un besoin bien concret. Elles répondent souvent à une question que je me suis posée chez moi : comment mieux ranger, mieux présenter, mieux utiliser un espace ou un objet du quotidien. Je dessine d'abord pour résoudre un problème, puis j'affine la forme jusqu'à ce qu'elle trouve un équilibre entre utilité, simplicité et beauté.
Mon parcours en design graphique m'a appris que chaque ligne devait avoir une raison d'être. Le travail du bois prolonge cette même démarche, avec une dimension supplémentaire : celle du geste, de la matière et du temps. J'aime créer des objets qui trouvent naturellement leur place dans le quotidien, qui vieillissent avec élégance et dont la présence met en valeur autant l'idée qui les a fait naître que le bois qui leur donne vie.
Woodworking
I am drawn to wood for its vitality, unpredictability and authenticity. Each species has its own character, grain, colour and history. My role is not to impose a form upon it, but to reveal what it already has to offer. Each finished piece is the result of my eye, my experience and my work, but above all, it remains a tribute to the natural beauty of the material from which it was made.
Most of my creations begin with a very practical need. They often arise from a question I have asked myself at home: how could I better organize something, present it, or make better use of a space or an everyday object? I begin by designing a solution to the problem, then refine the form until it finds a balance between usefulness, simplicity and beauty.
My background in graphic design has taught me that every line should have a reason for being. Working with wood extends this same approach into another dimension—that of gesture, material and time. I enjoy creating objects that find their place naturally in everyday life, that age gracefully, and whose presence celebrates not only the idea that brought them into being, but also the wood that gives them life.
